This week’s song of the week is Hey K by Passion Pit. Passion Pit self-released the album Tremendous Sea of Love in March, but it was officially released in July. They are considered to play indietronica style music. Passion Pit is well known for their use of synthesizers to create unique sounds.

Hey K holds true to Passion Pit’s electronic pop style. The song has a jazz sound to it which is a refreshing change from the mainstream pop that we are used to hearing. The melody is simple and understated, yet compelling.

If you’re interested in bands such as MGMT, Two Door Cinema Club and Vampire Weekend, definitely check out the new music from Passion Pit.
