On Nov. 10, sophomore Janko Radmanovic was named the GLIAC swimmer of the week for the second time this year. This announcement came three days after a record-breaking performance by Radmanovic at Ohio Wesleyan University. The Oilers dominated the tri-meet at OWU, finishing at the top of the standings, above Bellarmine and the host OWU, in both men and women.

The story of the meet quickly became centered on Radmanovic. His time of 9:37.75 in the 1,000-yard freestyle shattered a University of Findlay school record, and also broke the pool record at OWU. Radmanovic finished incredibly strong in the event, his very last lap being his second quickest of the 20 lap marathon.

Still, Radmanovic wasn’t done. He went on to claim another victory in the 100-meter butterfly with his time of 50.24, Todo Djurovic also claimed a victory for the Findlay men when he posted the only sub-minute time of 57.36 in the 100-yard breaststroke.

In the Women’s 200-yard freestyle Findlay’s own Emma Barnes took home first place, and then claimed another first place a few events later in the 100-yard freestyle. Jessica Ward claimed another top finish for Findlay with her time of 58.27 in the 100-yard backstroke.

Off to one of the best starts in Oiler swimming history, the squad will get back in the pool to compete in Grand Rapids, Michigan for the Calvin Winter Invitational on Dec. 3. The weekend invite will give them a chance to improve on their already impressive season.
