Oiler standout from a year ago, Harold Jones-Quartey continued his success at the pro level on Sunday when he got a start for the Chicago Bears. After starting safety Antrel Rolle was announced as injured in the middle of the week Quartey got his chance.

“I shot him a text after I saw Rolle was out and ask him if he was starting and he said that ‘yeah, between you and me, I am’,” said Findlay football coach Rob Keys. “He said they hadn’t announced it yet though.”

Not only did Quartey start, he did well. He racked up four solo tackles to give him five on the season and helped the defense hold the Kansas City Chiefs to 17 points en route to an 18-17 win.

“It’s amazing for him not only to start in the NFL but to win in the NFL,” added Keys. “It’s incredible for us to watch and I’m sure it has to be surreal for him.”

Look for Quartey to be back on the field this Sunday when his Bears take on the Detroit Lions.
