The University of Findlay’s Homecoming and Family Weekend kicked off at 10 a.m. on Sept. 24, with “Pop by the Rock,” a celebration around the Spirit Rock by Morey Hall. This event was the first of many that students, staff, and alumni can expect to enjoy this weekend.
All alumni are highly encouraged to make a return visit to campus this weekend to participate in all the activities, with some events being specifically alumni-focused. A special 50th reunion for the Class of 1976 will be hosted at the Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion at 4 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, an Alumni Awards Breakfast will be held in the Winebrenner Auditorium at 9 a.m. Registration for both events is now closed.
This weekend is filled with a variety of sporting events, including last night’s soccer match, a volleyball game today, Sept. 25, and, of course, the big football game on Saturday, Sept. 26. A tailgating party will precede the football game at Donnell Stadium from 12 to 1:30 p.m. The game itself will kick off at 2 p.m. with live coverage produced by UFTV on FloCollege.
For those who enjoy participating in athletic activities, the “Heart Healthy 5K and Fun Walk” will start at Old Main at 7 a.m. on Saturday morning. Registration is required, and those who are unable to attend but would still like to participate may choose the virtual registration option. Every participant will receive a shirt and entry into a raffle prize.
Scheduled into the craziness of this weekend are a few moments for relaxation, including nightly productions of “The Moors” at the Powell Grimm Theatre. Showtime starts at 7:30 p.m. each night, and the general public is invited to attend. On Saturday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m., “Project Hail Mary” starring Ryan Gosling will be shown on the Watterson Center lawn.
There is something for everyone to enjoy at Homecoming and Family Weekend 2026. Details about more activities and event registration can be found at oilers.findlay.edu and on the various University of Findlay social media pages.
