University of Findlay men’s basketball team dropped a high-octane game with Lake Erie College Thursday, Jan. 15, 99-94, bringing its record to 11-6.
The women’s basketball team got out to hot start Thursday, Jan. 15 against Lake Erie winning that game 70-59. The Lady Oilers are 7-8 overall (3-5 G-MAC). Senior Alyssa Ziehler scored 22 points, junior Aubri Spicer had 12, and juniors Taylor Stanley and MacKenzie Schulz each ended the game with 10 points.
Both teams take on ODU Saturday, Jan. 17 at starting at 1 p.m. for the women and 3 p.m. for the men.
The Roughnecks are 5-5 going into a meet at University of Indianapolis Friday, Jan. 16. The wrestlers competed at the Virginia Duals on Friday Jan. 9 and Saturday, Jan. 10. After beating Newberry College 22-21 in the semi-final, it lost 25-20 to Glenville State University in the championship.
Oiler swim and dive teams celebrate senior day when they take on Wayne State this weekend. They’re coming off a tough loss in a dual meet at the University of Indianapolis on Jan. 10. UI men’s team is ranked No. 2 and women’s No. 7. The Oiler’s No. 8 men’s team lost 191–89 while the No. 13 Oilers women’s team lost 201–74.
The UF indoor track and field teams take part in the Findlay Alumni Classic Friday, Jan. 16.
