All University of Findlay classes are canceled on Monday, Jan. 26, due to a Level Three Snow Emergency in Hancock County. All campus events, including the Donnell Broadway Concert on Jan. 25, have been canceled. Cancellations for Monday evening will be announced by 1:45 p.m. Jan. 25.
While in-person classes are canceled, students should be aware that professors may assign videos, readings, and assignments to Canvas, or may hold classes on Zoom at the scheduled class meeting time. Students with animals at the farms will receive information from farm staff about animal care during the closure.
Henderson Dining Hall will be open regardless of campus closure to provide food for on-campus students.
If power is lost, the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Center will be open and have heat for those in need.
The State of Ohio has three levels of Snow Emergency, with one being the safest and three being the most dangerous. At Level One, roadways are dangerous with snow and roads may be icy. Motorists are advised to drive carefully. At Level Two, roads may be very icy and motorists are advised to drive only if it is necessary. At Level Three, all roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel, and nobody should drive unless there is an emergency. Those who travel during a Level Three warning could be arrested.
During a Level One Emergency, classes at UF will continue as planned. At Level Two, individual classes may be canceled if professors cannot travel, and commuters should notify professors if they cannot make it. The university may close for the day at its discretion. In the event of a Level Three Snow Emergency, all on-campus classes will be canceled.
