What started on Aug. 1, 2019, ended seven years and nearly $95 million later.
The University of Findlay launched the “Together We Will” Campaign in 2019, and together, they did.
In a news release, the University advancement office stated that 11,460 donors from all 50 states and 18 countries made contributions to the $94.8 million total.
The release stated that $30.3 million is for operating support and $21.9 million for scholarships. It also gave a list of what some of the money will support.
- Lab renovations and training spaces: $2,888,368
- Findlay Fund endowment: $1,146,811
- Athletic facilities: $1,770,626
- Campus ministries: $1,121,988
- Mazza Museum program endowments: $701,157
- Mazza STEAM addition: $1,342,327
Kenneth McIntyre Jr., vice president of university advancement, says that 37% of donors are UF alumni, 61% of donors live in Ohio, and 20% live in Hancock County.
“We could not be more grateful to our loyal Oiler alumni and friends whose generosity has set a new campus record in philanthropy, coming together to push us 26 % beyond our goal,” McIntyre said in the release.
During the seven-year campaign, 76,551 individual gifts were made, which averages out to 30 gifts each day.
UF Board of Trustees member Chuck Bills says the donations help expand UF’s reach.
“Through education, leadership development, research, service, and workforce preparation, the University of Findlay helps to shape the future of our region and our nation,” Bills said in the release. “The remarkable generosity demonstrated through this campaign ensures that mission will continue for generations to come.”
The campaign began under the previous president, Dr. Katherine Fell, and wrapped up as she retired in July.
