Men’s Golf
The University of Findlay Men’s Golf team competed on the road at the Wright State Invitational on April 13, 2026, finishing 4th overall against a field composed primarily of Division I programs. The team posted a cumulative score of 18 over par, recording consistent rounds of 292, 284, and 294. Senior Luke Mutzger led the squad, tying for ninth place with an even-par finish and a standout second round of 68. Junior Colin Chadek followed, tying for 16th. The Oilers are next scheduled to compete at the Midwest Conference Championship beginning April 20 in Florence, Indiana.
Women’s Golf
The University of Findlay Women’s Golf team, currently ranked 4th nationally, competed at the Boilermaker Spring Classic on April 13, 2026, hosted by Purdue University, finishing 11th overall against a strong divisional field. The team recorded rounds of 307, 308, and 308. Junior Ashleigh Duflo led the Oilers, finishing 30th overall and highlighted by a final-round 75. Senior Haley Dye followed in 49th place. They kicked off the Great Midwest Championships on April 16, currently leading by 26 shots after the opening rounds, aiming to secure a top-two finish on April 17 to advance to the medal match play portion of the event.
Women’s Tennis
The University of Findlay Women’s Tennis team has climbed to 9th in the NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis National Rankings — marking the 10th time the team has been ranked this season. The Oilers hold an outstanding 16-1 overall record with an unblemished conference record, currently riding a 15-match win streak. The team’s most recent victory came on Senior Day, April 12, 2026, with a dominant 7-0 sweep over Ursuline College in both singles and doubles competition. Audrey Ouellet was the first to clinch her singles match, setting the tone for the team. Ivanova Lucero proved dominant in both singles and doubles, while Ivana Gombitova sealed the final point of the match.
Men’s Tennis
The University of Findlay Men’s Tennis team is currently ranked 48th nationally and holds an 11-6 overall record, with a 6-1 mark in conference play. On April 11, the Oilers defeated Walsh University 4-2, with key contributions from Nicolo Lippolis and Matthis Veniard. Aleksander Ivancevic secured a straight-set victory in the No. 5 singles position. The team is scheduled to travel to face Tiffin University on April 18, with the conference tournament to follow beginning April 23 in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Baseball
The University of Findlay Baseball team holds a 24-14 overall record and a 15-5 conference record, maintaining first place in the GMAC North Division. The Oilers went 2-2 against rival Ashland University over the weekend, including a sweep on Saturday — the program’s first sweep of Ashland in 18 years. Earlier in the week, the team suffered a tough loss against Saginaw Valley State University. The Oilers are set to continue conference play with road doubleheaders against Hillsdale College on April 17 and April 20.
Freshman infielder Drew Tucker and senior pitcher Carson Mellott were both named Athletes of the Week following their performances in the series against Tiffin University. Mellott was additionally named Midwest Region Pitcher of the Week after a dominant complete-game performance against the Dragons, recording 10 strikeouts and surrendering only one hit—the fewest hits allowed in a complete game since 2016. Due to an exceptional season, the Oilers have been listed in the ABCA Poll for the third consecutive week, currently ranked 45th.
Softball
The University of Findlay Softball team has posted a 30-10 overall record and a 13-4 conference record. The Oilers went 3-1 on the road this past weekend, splitting with Thomas More University on April 11 and sweeping Kentucky Wesleyan on April 12. The team then returned home to claim a sweep over Ohio Dominican University on April 14 at the Cube.
Offensively, junior Joslynne Frazier and freshman Sophie Retton each went 2-for-4 at the plate in Game One, with both players recording a home run and scoring a run. Retton also drove in two runs. On the mound, senior Kayla Dykin earned the win in Game Two, improving her season record to 7-3, while freshman Kaylynn Carter closed the game to secure her second save of the season. The Oilers will celebrate Senior Day on April 18 at the Cube, followed by a doubleheader against Walsh University.
Lacrosse
The University of Findlay Lacrosse team holds an 8-6 overall record and is undefeated at 6-0 in conference play. On Senior Day, the Oilers earned a rewarding 13-9 victory over Thomas More. They then faced Tiffin University on April 15, with junior Rebecca Chmiel leading the Oilers by scoring five goals and sophomore Cora West adding four. The team clinched a tournament berth with a 12-8 victory over Tiffin on April 16, highlighted by four goals from Chmiel. Their next matchup is against Ashland in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference on April 18.
Track & Field
On the track, the Oilers competed at four separate outdoor meets across the country on April 11. The team set two program records while recording eight NCAA provisional marks, highlighted by standout performances from Benjamin Hal in steeplechase, setting a new record, and Lauren Sattler in the 1500m, setting a new program record. Overall, the Oilers earned several first-place accolades in field events and strong performances in relays. Additionally, sophomore Zanri Black earned G-MAC Athlete of the Week after a standout performance in the Tennessee Invitational, placing second in the 400m hurdles and marking the 12th fastest time in Division II this season. The Oilers will be back on track on Friday, April 17, in the GINA Relays and Virginia Challenge.
