At the beginning of the 2026 spring semester, the University of Findlay launched the Oiler Hub in hopes to provide more accessible resources to its students, according to Denise Durenberger, assistant director of digital communications at the University of Findlay.
“We also wanted to have more efficient collaborative tools and access to everything and resources,” Durenberger said. “It also helps with our overall web strategy of moving some of the resources that are really for internal audiences, to a specialized place where everybody knows they’re entering into that portal.”
The Oiler Hub is an intranet site only accessible by the Universities students and faculty. The internal site provides updates, resources and tools, such as, Workday and the Academic Calendar.
Freshman, Ashley Darby, says there are a lot of tools available on the site.
“The Oiler Hub has a lot more links to everything,” Darby said. like “[Like] academic support, student affairs, core plus courses, Cosiano, [and] financial aid, it literally has everything you can think about University of Findlay, all in just one spot.”
The Oiler Hub comes as change to UF students and faculty from the previous landing page which included a board pattern, with links to sites such as Canvas, Starfish, and Workday. This previous landing page was also available to any person who did not have the Findlay.edu credentials.
The marketing and communications team collaborated over the summer in order to get the Hub up and running for students. They used platforms such as Adobe Illustrator, and SharePoint, with SharePoint being the platform that UF members can use to access the Hub, according to Reilly Cozette, digital designer and front-end developer in marketing at UF.
“We called it a summer sprint. And so, it was a real compressed period of time that we wanted to get this up and running for the campus community and so, we had some focus time where all of them, the marketing and communication staff kind of looked at it, made some decisions in terms of design and layout what they wanted to do,” Cozette said. “So, it’s definitely a collaborative team approach to making this available and accessible to campus.”
While the Oiler Hub has been available since beginning of the 2025 fall semester, some faculty and staff may not be fully aware of all the changes. Alexander Davis, an instructor of teaching in media and communication at UF advises students and faculty to slow down and learn what this platform has to offer for them.
“I would recommend doing what we’re doing now, taking a few clicks, and you know, all the five to 10 minutes, realizing everything is actually right here, whatever I need, it’s probably going to be in this area,” Davis said.
Looking ahead, students and faculty can expect to see changes to the Oiler Hub as it is being updated every day.
“It will definitely continue to change,” Cozette said. “I’m in there making updates every day as we continue to move information from the external site to the internal site.”
