The University of Findlay is gearing up to host its first home NCAA Division II Playoff game for the football program this Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m.
The game will not be streamed on the normal FloSports service. Viewers will find it only on ESPN+.
The Athletic Department wants to make sure the stands are full so the first 300 UF students can get a free ticket by going to the Oiler Athletic Office in Croy physical education center on the second floor, but you have to go Thursday morning, Nov. 20, between 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. After the first 300 are gone, student tickets will be $5 each.
Faculty and staff can also get discounted tickets. They can buy up to tickets for $5, which is half the price, also Thursday morning 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The University is hosting a tailgate event at 11 a.m. on game day in the south parking lot of Donnell Stadium.
The No. 2 seed Oilers (10-1 overall) take on Minnesota State-Mankato Mavericks (8-3 overall). The winner of this game will take on the winner of No. 3 seed University of Indianapolis (10-1) hosting Truman State University (8-3) which also plays at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Other matchups in Super Region III include No.1 seed Ferris State (11-0) hosting Northwood University (9-2), No. 4 seed Ashland University hosting Minnesota Duluth (10-1).
The University of Findlay Oilers football team dropped from No. 8 in the country to No. 12 in the final American Football Coaches’ Association (AFCA) Poll of the regular-season after the Nov. 15, two-point loss to Tiffin University. It was the only loss of the season.
