Due to extremely cold weather, the University of Findlay’s campus closed both Jan. 21 and Jan. 22 per emails from President Dr. Katherine Fell.

An email was sent out on Friday about closing campus on Friday, Jan. 17. Dr. Fell sent a follow up email Monday, Jan. 20, that the campus will remain closed until 5 p.m. on Jan. 22. In-person classes will resume after 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

In the email sent Dr. Fell said, “Fully online classes will continue as scheduled. For in-person DAY classes, instructors may choose to post videos, notes, or alternate assignments to Canvas.”

However, Henderson and Simple-to-Go will remain open throughout the University closure. They will offer brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and dinner from 4:30-7:30 p.m. The Refinery and Jazzman’s locations will be closed.

“In the event of loss of power, the AMU will be powered with a generator for a warm and safe location for any residential and/or local students in need,” according to Dr. Fell’s email.

Students responsible for animals at any of the farms will receive information from farm staff about procedures during the cold weather. To determine if farm classes are being held, students can call the farm weather hotline 419-434-4846.
