Campus Ministry prepares for annual ultimate frisbee tournament

Campus Ministry hosted its annual Ultimate Frisbee Tournament on Tuesday, April 16 at 8 p.m. in the Koehler Recreational Center. Now in its fifth year, the tournament welcomed students of all competition levels; whether experienced or new to the game, all are invited to join, play, or watch.

“We’ve been playing frisbee for five years now, and it’s become more than just a game,” said Josiah Parkhurst, Assistant Director of Christian Ministries.

Frisbee is a weekly tradition for UF Campus Ministry, with recreational games every Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. Over the years, it’s become more than just a game; it’s a chance to build friendships and step away from college stress.

The upcoming tournament continues tradition, bringing the campus community together for a fun evening of spirited play. The winning team receives a gift car, but the focus remains on fellowship and connection.

The frisbee tournament is part of a larger schedule of Campus Ministry events through the week. Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. feature a Bible study with the freshman class. Monday nights offer a co-ed Bible study at 7 p.m. On Tuesdays, there’s a men’s group at 7 p.m., followed by a co-ed Bible study at 9 p.m.

Wednesdays start with a girl’s group at 7 p.m. and end with the weekly frisbee game at 8:30 p.m. Thursday nights include Revive at Winebrenner Chapel at 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday evenings are reserved for Film Society gatherings, offering a relaxing end to the week.
