*The Pulse is exploring the policy statements from each major candidate in the 2024 presidential race. This article breaks down the issues from Senator Sherrod Brown.

Sherrod Brown was born and raised in Ohio and is working for the “Dignity of Work.”

The “Dignity of Work” is inspired by Pope Leo XIII and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. it is based on the principle that work should and will pay off for everyone.

Senator Brown has been in office since 2006 as a Democrat.

Senator Brown is the Chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee where he passed the Wall Street reform Law which allowed consumers new protections. This created the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Senator Brown is working to make home buying a more universal experience and to make affording a home something everyone could do.

In 2015, Senator Brown’s bipartisan Leveling the Playfield Act was signed into effect by President Obama.

The significance of the Canary Pin stands as these workers did not have a strong government willing to fight for them.
