On Thursday, March 14, 2024, we celebrate our annual Math Day at The University of Findlay. The purpose of Math Day is to show students the fun side of mathematics and how it is useful in the real world and for us to relax and enjoy the beauty of mathematics. Every year we invite a reputed speaker to present mathematical ideas in an entertaining way. On that day, all math classes will be cancelled and almost all our undergraduate students and many local high school students will attend. The speaker will give two different talks which are accessible to non-math majors. The first talk is from 10:00-10:50 a.m. and the second one is from 1:00-1:50 p.m. in Winebrenner Auditorium. Our speaker this year is Matt Schlatter. Matt has been a successful high school math teacher at Rossford High School for 30 years. In that time he has taught every level of high school math up to calculus. He has taught CCP calculus in partnership with The University of Findlay for almost 20 years. His successes have been highlighted in the Toledo Blade. We would like as many students as possible to benefit from this. Please join us in celebrating mathematics and encourage your students to attend one or both of the talks.
