Updates on Timelycare

In fall of 2023, the University of Findlay began a partnership with TimelyCare, a free telehealth service, to offer physical and mental healthcare to students. In 2024, TimelyCare continues to be a complimentary and immediate resource for full-time students both on and off campus.

Tara Smith, the Director of Health Services at Cosiano Health Center on campus, said that one of the chief benefits of TimelyCare is its ability to provide care to students outside of Cosiano and Counseling Services’ hours. Additionally, it provides care to students who are out of state for clinicals or other academic experiences.

TimelyCare offers completely free (no insurance necessary) medical care, counseling appointments, health coaching, and self-care resources. They also offer a ‘talk now’ feature, which “provides unlimited mental health and emotional support, 24/7” according to TimelyCare.

“The ‘Talk Now’ feature is helpful because if it’s 6 p.m. and a student is stressed about an exam, they can talk to a professional immediately,” Smith said.

Students can access TimelyCare at TimelyCare.com/Findlay or by scanning a QR code provided by Cosiano or Counseling Services. Smith said that information about TimelyCare is also available on the TV tiles around campus and is shared whenever Cosiano or Counseling Services presents to classes.

“I’m honestly surprised more students don’t use TimelyCare, but they seem to prefer receiving care in person when they can,” Smith said.
