Last Saturday, during the Homecoming football game against Alderson Broaddus, the University of Findlay 2019 Homecoming Court was introduced as well as the announcement of King and Queen. Out the five king candidates and five queen candidates, this year’s Homecoming King and Queen are Aaron Overhiser and Mackenzie Wagner.

Overhiser and Wagner both say they are honored by the new title.

“It means the world to me that friends, family, and my classmates took the time to vote for me,” Overhiser commented. “I am extremely thankful for all of the support and praise I received this weekend and I am humbled by this entire process. Findlay is definitely my family.”

“It is incredibly humbling and gratifying that my fellow colleagues felt that I would be a queenly representative of The University of Findlay,” said Wagner. “My friends joke that I am the ‘oiliest’ person they know. So, it was delightful knowing they aren’t the only ones who think that! I am grateful for my colleges kindness and the opportunity to grow my passion for UF even more.”

Along with being decided by your fellow college students, being named Homecoming Queen or King means that they are the embodiment of OilerNation. Wagner and Overhiser commented on representing UF with this honor.

“Being named Queen was nothing shy of incredible,” Wager said. “Everyone on the court had amazing qualities and attributes! I was shocked to hear my name called. I have and always will proudly promote the amazing university that we all call home. And to be named Queen makes my orange and black heart so full! I am incredibly honored and eternally grateful for the opportunity to be The University of Findlay’s 2019 Homecoming Queen.”

“It is quite the honor to represent the University of Findlay as the 2019 Homecoming King,” Overhiser said. “Being awarded this is a great feeling but the support and kind words throughout this entire week have truly meant the most to me.”

Congratulations to Overhiser, Wagner, and the rest of the 2019 Homecoming Court!
