Not only does the Cleveland Browns organization look after its’ players, it also plays a role at the University of Findlay. Though football may be what comes to mind when students think of this NFL team, the Browns partnership is one that provides UF students with many opportunites off the field.
On Wednesday, March 28, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., UF is hosting the fourth Browns Edge Spring Breakout in the Alumni Memorial Union Multipurpose Room. In a meeting all about relationships and networking, students can expect to get a taste of what life working with the Browns is all about. Students that sign up to attend the event will receive an excused absence.
Peyton Sibert, a junior and creative writing major with minors in marketing and business administration, says she is ready to learn about what kind of options the Browns offer.
“I am looking forward to seeing people, network, and get excited about an awesome opportunity,” said Sibert.
With no prior experience with the Browns Edge Spring Breakout, Sibert also hopes to better her skills in networking and learn about the internships offered through this program.
UF Assistant Professor of Sports and Coordinator of Internship and Cooperative Programs Eric Stoller explains the Browns partnership is meant for more than just one purpose.
“The idea is to develop a network and utilize them as a partner, as they have partnerships with others,” said Stoller.
Stoller sys the day will consist of more conversation than presentation.
“There are more interactive conversations, with very little about the internship and more about broadening the relationship with the Browns to be more than just business focused,” explained Stoller.
All students of any major are welcome to attend this event, as there will be speakers from the departments of wellness, marketing, communications, anayltics, public relations, sales, and nutrition.
Stoller expresses his excitement for this event and the variety that students can expect to see.
“It’s a broad organization that has more than just football,” said Stoller. “It’s bigger than that and their reach goes further than anything that we can imagine.”
Students and faculty alike are supportive of the relationship that UF has made with the Browns and enjoy the opportunities that the organization provides.
“I think it’s great for the students to have such a professional experience,” said Sibert.
