Regular season for UF football begins

The Findlay Oiler Football team has one game under its belt for the 2017 season after playing old rival Tiffin University Thursday, Aug. 31. Next up is Ferris State at home Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.
The 2017 season marks the beginning of play in a new conference after UF decided to leave the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and join the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC). The Oilers finished its final season in the GLIAC with 6-5 record.
Findlay is one of five institutions just joining the GMAC this year. They include Hillsdale, Lake Erie, Ohio Dominican and Walsh. Returning conference members include Alderson Broaddus, Hillsdale, Kentucky Wesleyan, and Malone University. Tiffin University will join the G-MAC in 2018.
League coaches voted ODU the league favorite.
Findlay opens conference play at Walsh University Sept 30 at 1 p.m.
