Lady Oilers fall to Ashland University

The top team in the country got the better of the Lady Oilers on Saturday. The Oilers fell 102-68 on senior day, and fall to 13-14 overall on the season. The Oilers kept the game close through the first quarter, but then the Eagles broke the game open in the second and third quarters to coast to an easy win. The eagles led 44-23 at the end of the first half, and extended that margin in the second half.

The Oilers shot 34 percent from the field compared to a blistering 57 percent for the Eagles.

Playing her final game at Croy Gymnasium, Findlay’s all-time leading three point shooter Karli Bonar had 12 points all of which came from the three point line. Haley Horstman added 16 points with Christa Puthoff scoring seven points. Allie Thobe dished out four assists and chipped in seven points for the Oilers.

Findlay’s women’s team will be back in action on Thursday as they travel on the road to take on Walsh University.
