The University of Findlay’s Green Campus Initiative (FGCI) is putting on a bicycle obstacle course today in the rear parking lot of the FRC from 4:30 – 7 p.m.

The obstacle course will be marked out with cones and complete with obstacles where cyclists must maneuver around, over, or under. Whoever wins will get a prize.

There will also be some side events going on and Shirley’s Popcorn will be there to snack on along with water bottles.

Amy DePuy, marketing specialist in the marketing and communication office says that the FGCI’s goal is to make campus more environmentally friendly.

“We thought what kind of fun thing can we do to get students involved and get them excited about being environmentally friendly and conscious about the environment?”

DePuy says that an obstacle course is the best way to do this.

If you do not have a bike, there will be bikes and helmets at the event for students to borrow so they can participate.

If you are interested in joining FGCI and are passionate about being green, email green@findlay.edu. The club has meetings 8 a.m. on Thursdays about once a month and they are looking for students to get involved.
